Jason Washburn

Program Advisor

Specialization:  High Shool Program, Recruiting


Coach Washburn is the current Director of Baseball Operations at Sam Houston State University.  Prior to joining the Bearkats, he was the head baseball coach at College Park (for 14 years), Spring and Willis High Schools.  He also coached the 15U USA National Team to a Gold Medal in 2015.  His played college ball at Texas A&M.

Dave Wood

Director of Player Development, Professional Trainer

Specialization:  Hitting, Pitching, Fielding

Coach Wood is currently the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for St. Edwards University.  Prior to coaching he played several years in the Kansas City Royals organization.  In college, he was a standout player receiving multiple accolades at Texas State University.

Mike Harris

Director of Baseball Training, Professional Trainer

Specialization: Hitting, Pitching, Fielding



Coach Harris was a 3-time Minor League All-Star, Defensive Coach for the White Sox, and Professional Scout for the Cardinals.  In 1999, he founded Miracles Baseball Academy (MBA).  MBA has helped position more than 300 young men to play at the college level and helped 14 players to get drafted...5 have gone on to play in the Major Leagues.  


David Clyde

Professional Trainer

Specialization: Pitching



Coach Clyde was a #1 overall Major League Draft Pick.  He was also the most current player to go straight to the Major League.  Just weeks after pitching his last High School game, he started on the mound in Arlington for the Texas Rangers.  Coach Clyde is also in the Texas High School Hall of Fame.  Since retiring, he has worked with hundreds of youth pitchers and helped them find their way to compete at the collegiate and professional levels.



Trey Cumbie

Professional Trainer/Coach, Current Professional Pitcher

Specialization: Pitching



Coach Trey was a standout at the University of Houston before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays.  His collegiate accolades included multiple All-American Honors and over 20 other outstanding achievement awards. 


Tanner Lawson

Professional Trainer/Coach, Current Professional Pitcher

Specialization: Pitching, Arm Care, Speed , Agility and Strength Training


Coach Tanner played at University of Houston and St. Edward's University where he studied kinesiology.  He was drafted in 2018  (21st round) by the Atlanta Braves.  He pitched the 2018 season with the Danville Braves and posted a 3.60 ERA with 29 innings, 31 strikeouts, and only 5 walks. 

Josh Pettitte

Professional Trainer/Coach

Specialization: Pitching


Coach Josh was drafted in 2013 by the New York Yankees, but elected to pursue his pitching career and education at Baylor University.  In 2015, he transferred to Rice University where he recorded 27 strikeouts in 19 innings as a relief pitcher that year.  In his outing against #1 ranked TCU, he fanned 2 of the 3 batters he faced.  As a high school player at Deer Park High School, he was a stand-out being selected second team All-American and First Team All State his senior year.


David Harris

Professional Trainer, Current Professional Player

Specializaion: Hitting, Fielding


Coach David was originally drafted and played several season in the Toronto Blue Jays Organization.  In late 2017, his career brought him back to Houston when was signed by the Sugarland Skeeters.  


During his college career he was a standout and received MVP honors at Southern Arkansas University.  In 2013 he was also named Player of the Year in the Great American Conference. 

Jake Davis

Professional Trainer, Current Professional Player

Specializaion: Pitching


Coach Jake had a successful college career playing at Howard College, Souther Miss, and St. Edwards University.  In 2018, he joined the Evansville Otters as a lefty pitcher and appeared in 6 games.  His training also included his spending two months at the Driveline Baseball Academy in Seattle, Washington.  

Robbie Lammons

Professional Trainer

Specialization: Hitting, Catching, and Infielding


Coach Robbie finished his playing career after a successful college career at Rice University, Howard College and ultimately, St. Edwards University we he earned his degree.  As a catcher and infielder, he's been named to numerous all-district, all-conference, and all-tournament teams.

Ryan Clyde

Professional Trainer

Specializaion: Hitting and Catching


Coach Ryan was a High School Standout and Division 1 baseball player at Lamar University, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Angelina College. 


He set the Single Season HOME RUN and RBI records at both Angelina College and Texas A& M Corpus Christi.


Vance Fields

Professional Trainer/Coach

Specialization: Hitting, Outfield, Speed & Agility


After being an All-District outfield and home run hitter at DeKaney HS, Coach Vance went on to play for Clarendon College before playing his last three college seasons at Concordia University.  He earned his degree in kinesiology.


Coach Vance has select experience as a former Banditos player with a 6.4 60-yard time.  After his college career, he spent two years as a 

head coach and instructor for the OneOeight organization in Spring.


Carlos Navarro

Head Coach/Professional Trainer

Specialization: Hitting and Infield (3B & 1B)


As a standout High School player in Mexico, Coach Carlos was drafted by the Florida Marlins.  After much consideration, he made the choice not to become a professional player, but to accept a college scholarship to Tec de Monterrey.  Some of his baseball accolades included District MVP, District Home Run Champion, National MVP and winning the National Batting Championship.  After his college graduation, Coach Carlos moved to Houston where he earned a Masters Degree from Rice University.  The 2017-18 Baseball Season marks his 3rd year coaching youth baseball.


Adam Durand

Head Coach/Professional Trainer

Secialization: Hitting and Middle Infield


Coach Durand was a 4 year letterman at Redeemer HS before playing  SS and 2B at Delgado CC and leading them to the NJCAA College World Series.  He is married and has 4 children with his oldest son playing playing baseball at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.  He has coached Select Baseball for 11 years and currently is the head coach of Scorpions Team EASTON 9U Durand.  In 2017, Coach Durand led his 8U team to 6 Championship Games including the Final Game a the USSSA World Series in Sulphur, LA.


Wade Martinez

Head Coach/Professional Trainer

Specialization: Catching, Strength & Agility (Y.E.S. Certified)


Coach Wade was a catcher at Cy-Fair High School and Southwestern University.  After college, he continued to play Ametuer baseball and compete in tournaments around the country for nearly 20 years.  He is a Certified Youth Exercise Specialist and has been a head coach with Scorpions Baseball for 7 years.


Scott Harris

Head Coach/Professional Trainer

Specialization: Hitting


Coach Scott was a standout as a switch-hitter at Sul Ross State University.  He has been a head coach for Scorpions Baseball since 2015.


Adria Martinez

Professional Trainer

Specialization: Speed and Agility


Coach Adria received a full volleyball scholarship to Rice University when she was 15.  As a high school senior she worked as the strength and agility coach for the Scorpions.  She is currently a student-Athlete at Rice studying sports management.

Keeon Johnson

Certified Personal Trainer

Specializaion: Speed and Agility and Strength Training


Coach Keeon played football at The University of New Mexico State prior to a professional career in both Europe and in the Arena Football League.  Today he holds numberous certifications in the fitness world from both ACE and ISSA.
