Paul Janish

Director of Player Development for the Chicago White Sox

 

Coach Janish is the current Director of Player Development for the Chicago White Sox.  In 2003 he was an integral part of the Rice University National Championship Team.  Later that year, he was drafted in the 5th round and went on to play 9 seasons in the MLB.  After retirting from his playing career he joined Rice as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

Trevor Werner

Current MiLB Player for the Kansas City Royals

 

Coach Trevor was a standout at Klein HS before playing 4 years at Texas A&M University.  In 2023, he was drafted by the KC Royals in the 7th Round.  During his first season, he accumilated multiple awards and is quickly moving throught the minor league system.

Wade Martinez

Founder & Club Director

 

Coach Wade was a catcher at Cy-Fair High School and Southwestern University.  After graduating from college,  he returned to his Landscape and Irrigation business in Spring, Texas that he founded in 1988.  He also continued to play baseball as an ametuer for nearly twenty years. He competed in tournaments around the country winning numerous titles and finishing second in the 18U+ Open Division World Series in Arizona.  As a Scorpions Coach he has led his teams to dozens of Championships, 11 World Series victories and the 2021 12U Cooperstown World Series Title.  Today, he continues helping players in various coaching roles, works with High School Players and their college recruiting process, is a Certified Youth Exersise Specialist, serves on both the Scorpions Baseball Club and Scorpions Scholarship Foundation Boards, and more. 

 

Personal Life:  Wade remains the president of his Landscape and Irrigation company, has been married to his wife, Katrina, for 26 years, and has two children, Adria and Landon.

Christian Caudle

Director of Baseball Operations and Player Development

Specialization: Hitting, Catching

 

Coach Christian played his collegiate carreer at Texas A&M Kingsville while earning his degree in finance. As a standout catcher, he earned multiple all conference team selections and in 2018 was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals.

 

Vincent Moore

Director of Baseball Operations, Houston West

Executive Coordinator of Player Development

Specialization: Hitting, Pitching, Fielding

 
Coach Moore was drafted in the 5th round of the MLB Draft out of High School. His 14-Year professional playing career included time with the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres organizations. After his playing career ended, he landed professional coaching positions here he was twice recognized as Manager of the Year.
 
In 2012, he joined, helped grow and coached at one of Houston's biggest Select Baseball Organizations. After 10 years there, he is regarded by many as one of the best coaches in Travel Baseball. He relates to his players, has a professional demeanor and possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience to help young athletes.

Dave Wood

Director of HS Player Development, Professional Trainer

Specialization: Hitting, Pitching, Fielding, Recruiting

 
Coach Wood is currently the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at San Jac Junior College. Prior to coaching he played several years in the Kansas City Royals organization. In college, he was a standout player receiving multiple accolades at Texas State University.
 
 

John Cannon

Director of HS Recruiting, Professional Caoch

Specialization: Hitting, Pitching, Fielding, Recruiting

 
Coach Cannon is currently the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Wharton County Community College. He was a standout at the University of Houston prior to getting drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2012.  Since his retirement from professional baseball, he has worked with countless amateur players and has helped hundreds of young men play at the collegiate and professional levels.  
 
 

Jason Washburn

High School Recruiting Advisor

Specialization: High School Program, Recruiting

 

Prior to joining Scorpions Baseball, Coach Washburn was the Director of Baseball Operations at Sam Houston State University. Before joining the Bearkats, he was the head baseball coach at College Park (for 14 years), Spring and Willis High Schools. He also coached the 15U USA National Team to a Gold Medal in 2015. He played college ball at Texas A&M.

Tanner Lawson

Trainer/Coach, Current Assistant Coach at Houston Christian University

Specialization: Pitching, Arm Care, Speed, Agility and Strength Training

 

Coach Tanner played at University of Houston and St. Edward's University where he studied kinesiology. He was drafted in 2018  (21st round) by the Atlanta Braves. He pitched the 2018 season with the Danville Braves and posted a 3.60 ERA with 29 innings, 31 strikeouts, and only 5 walks. 

Robbie Lammons

Trainer/Coach

Specialization: Hitting, Catching, and Infield

 

Coach Robbie finished his playing career after a successful college career at Rice University, Howard College and ultimately, St. Edwards University we he earned his degree. As a catcher and infielder, he's been named to numerous all-district, all-conference and all-tournament teams.

Mike Harris

Program Advisor, Professional Trainer

Specialization: Hitting, Fielding, Mental Skills, Pastoral Consultation

 

Coach Harris was the former Scorpions Director of Operations for 3 years and pioneereed the Scorpions High School Program. His 40+ years of professional experience includes playing six years, three time minor league all-star, two championships, switch hitting, Defensive and Base-Running Coach for the White Sox, and Professional Scouting Supervisor for the Cardinals. College Coach for four years. In 1999, he founded Miracles Baseball Academy (MBA). MBA has trained thousands, partenered with the Houston Astros and numerous other sports organizations directing camps, clinics and consulting. MBA has helped position more than 300 young men to play at the college level and helped 17 players get drafted... seven have gone on to play in the Major Leagues. "Baseball Pastor Mike" is also an ordained minister, asscoicate pastor, missionary, and public speaker. 

 

Danny Crawford

Trainer/Coach

Specialization: Pitching

 

Coach Crawford played and earned 1st-Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-American Honors at the University of Houston and Seminole Jr. College before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played his High School Career where he was stand-out receiveng all-district, all Greater Houston and All State awards. Out of High School, he was first drafted by the Toronto Bluejays, but elected to earn his education before pursing his MLB dreams.  

Cody Poteet

Trainer/Coach/Scorpions Ranch Elite Pitching Experiences 

Specialization: Pitching

 

Coach Preston is a current RHP with the Kansas City Royals.  He has over 20 years of pitching experience.  At age 16, he threw 96 mph and he topped 99 mph in the MLB with the Miami Marlins.  After his collegiate career at UCLA, he was drafted in the 4th round by the Marlins in 2015.  He brings to Scorpions valuable information from an MLB perspective.  He shares with players a healthy velocity development program, proven routies for pre and post throwing, crucial drills to help with mechanical deficiencies, proper long toss techniques and more.

 

Preston White

Trainer/Coach 

Specialization: Pithcing, Hitting and Outfield

 

Coach Preston was an All-Conference college player before being drafted by the LA Dodgers in 2017 as an outfielder.  He declined the offer and 1-year later was drafted by the San Fransico Giants as a pitcher.  After two years into his professional baseball career, he voluntarily retired and began his life after playing baseball with his new family.  Today, he lives in Katy with his wife, daughter and baby on the way.  

 

Trent Rosenauer

Trainer/Coach 

Specialization: Hitting and Outfield

 

Coach Trent a current Assistant Coach at Concordia Lutheran High School. He was a standout hitter and outfielder at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. And he played his High School career locally at Tomball Memorial where he was a three year letterman.    

 

Connor Baumann

Trainer/Coach/Camps and Clinics Director 

Specialization: Hitting and Infield

 

Coach Connor has quickly become one of Scorpions most popular coaches.  His passion, energy and dedication to teaching and making the game fun for players is unrivaled.  As a player, Coach Connor was a standout at Tomball Memorial HS where he was a TWO-Time All-District Middle Infielder.

Daniel Lingua

Trainer/Coach 

Specialization: Hitting and Infield

 

Coach Lingua played his college career at Praire View A&M where he was a standout leading the Southwest Atlantic Conference with a .380 Batting Average his Senior year.  He's currently on loan to Scorpions Baseball in the off-season by the American Asscociation's Gary SouthMore Railcats where he's continuing his career.  As a rookie last season, he anchored the defense with a gold-glove type season, played in 89 games and put up big offensvie numbers including 3 HR's, 16 Doubles, and Five Triples along with 45 Walks and 13 Stolen Bases.

Keeon Johnson

Certified Personal Trainer

Specializaion: Speed and Agility and Strength Training

 

Coach Keeon played football at The University of New Mexico State prior to a professional career in both Europe and in the Arena Football League. Today he holds numberous certifications in the fitness world from both ACE and ISSA. 

 

Adria Martinez

Trainer and College Recruiting Coordinator

 

Adria serves as the Scorpions HS liason. She has served as the strength and conditioning for the Scorpions since her senior year of high school. When Adria was 15, She received a full volleyball scholarship to Rice University. As a Student-Athlete at Rice studying sports management, she helped lead the Owls past the #3 Texas Longhorns and land the Rice Volleyball Program in the top 25 for the first time in program history.
