Prior to joining Scorpions Baseball, Coach Washburn was the Director of Baseball Operations at Sam Houston State University. Before joining the Bearkats, he was the head baseball coach at College Park (for 14 years), Spring and Willis High Schools. He also coached the 15U USA National Team to a Gold Medal in 2015. He played college ball at Texas A&M.

Coach Harris was the former Scorpions Director of Operations for 3 years and pioneereed the Scorpions High School Program. His 40+ years of professional experience includes playing 6 years, 3-time minor league all-star, 2 championships, switch hitting, Defensive and Base-Running Coach for the White Sox, and Professional Scouting Supervisor for the Cardinals. College Coach for 4 years. In 1999, he founded Miracles Baseball Academy (MBA). MBA has trained thousands, partenered with the Houston Astros and numerous other sports organizations directing camps, clinics and consulting. MBA has helped position more than 300 young men to play at the college level and helped 17 players get drafted...7 have gone on to play in the Major Leagues. "Baseball Pastor Mike" is also an ordained minister, asscoicate pastor, missionary, and public speaker.
Coach Crawford played and earned 1st-Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-American Honors at the University of Houston and Seminole Jr. College before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played his High School Career where he was stand-out receiveng all-district, all Greater Houston and All State awards. Out of High School, he was first drafted by the Toronto Bluejays, but elected to earn his education before pursing his MLB dreams.

Coach Daryl was drafted Spring High School in the 3rd round of the MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. After finishing his professional baseball career he has become one of the top youth coaches and trainers in the area. We welcome Caoch Daryl to our High School and 14U Teams.
Professional Trainer/Coach, Current Professional Pitcher
Specialization: Pitching, Arm Care, Speed , Agility and Strength Training
Coach Tanner played at University of Houston and St. Edward's University where he studied kinesiology. He was drafted in 2018 (21st round) by the Atlanta Braves. He pitched the 2018 season with the Danville Braves and posted a 3.60 ERA with 29 innings, 31 strikeouts, and only 5 walks.
Ramon "Smokey" Ortiz
Specializaion: Hitting and Outfield
Coach Smokey spent 29 years as a hitting instructor with the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees before joining Scorpions Baseball this year. His lively demeanor and vast knowledge of the game have translated well to working with our younger players.

Coach Robbie finished his playing career after a successful college career at Rice University, Howard College and ultimately, St. Edwards University we he earned his degree. As a catcher and infielder, he's been named to numerous all-district, all-conference, and all-tournament teams.

Coach Christian played his collegiate carreer at Texas A&M Kingsville while earning his degree in finance. As a standout catcher, he earned multiple all conference team selections and in 2018 was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals.

Coach Sam was a standout in High School and played at Blinn College before finishing his playing career at Western Kentucky University where he earned a Master's Degree. In his final year he was the Grad Assistant Coach at WKU and coached first base in all Conference USA games. He is currently the assistant Coach at Blinn College in Brenham, TX.
Coach Josh was drafted in 2013 by the New York Yankees, but elected to pursue his pitching career and education at Baylor University. In 2015, he transferred to Rice University where he recorded 27 strikeouts in 19 innings as a relief pitcher that year. In his outing against #1 ranked TCU, he fanned 2 of the 3 batters he faced. As a high school player at Deer Park High School, he was a stand-out being selected second team All-American and First Team All State his senior year.

Coach Tyler finished his collegiate career at St. Edward's Univerity in Austin, Texas. He is a left-handed, hard throwing (95) pitcher that hopes to continue his career as a professional player in 2021. While he trains in the off-season, he will be helping our players.

Coach Boss was a 4-time All-Conference player. He played 2 years at Blinn College and 2 years at D1 Oral Roberts University. As a standout, power-hitting outfielder, he suffered injuries that kept him out of the MLB draft. Some of his highlights include huge games against powerhouses Missippippi State (3 for 3) and UT (2 triples in one game).
Club Director/Head Coach
Specialization: Catching, Strength & Agility (Y.E.S. Certified)
Coach Wade was a catcher at Cy-Fair High School and Southwestern University. After college, he continued to play Ametuer baseball for 17 years. He competed in tournaments around the country winning multiple local titles and finishing second in the 18U+ Open Division Word Series in Arizona.
He is a Certified Youth Exercise Specialist and has been a head coach with Scorpions Baseball for 8 years.
Certified Personal Trainer
Specializaion: Speed and Agility and Strength Training
Coach Keeon played football at The University of New Mexico State prior to a professional career in both Europe and in the Arena Football League. Today he holds numberous certifications in the fitness world from both ACE and ISSA.

Coach Adria received a full volleyball scholarship to Rice University when she was 15. Since being a high school senior, she has worked as a strength and agility coach for the Scorpions. As a Student-Athlete at Rice studying sports management, she helped lead the Owls past the #3 Texas Longhorns and land the Rice Volleyball Program in the top 25 for the first time in program history. In the fall of 2020, she'll be pursuing a Masters Degree at Durham University in England while conitinuing her Volleyball career as a scholarship student-athlete abroad.

Coach Durand was a 4 year letterman at Redeemer HS before playing SS and 2B at Delgado CC and leading them to the NJCAA College World Series. He is married and has 4 children with his oldest son playing playing baseball at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He has coached Select Baseball for 11 years.
